About us

Effective Health & Safety Management Limited was set up in 2004 with the specific aim of providing specialised help and support in the management of health and safety.

We have over 20 years experience of health and safety management in both the public and private sectors. This includes enforcement of legislation, and work at senior positions in high-risk industries, government agencies and FTSE100 companies.

Our founding Director spent nine years as an HM Inspector of Health and Safety with the Health and Safety Executive before becoming Group Head of Health, Safety and Environment for one of the Regional Electricity Utilities. A period as Head of the National Health and Safety Team of England’s largest Non-Departmental Public Body then followed. Most recently he was the European and Middle-East Safety, Health and Environment Policy Manager within the risk management directorate of a FTSE100 multinational.

Another Director is a practising solicitor and has over 15 years public sector experience gained at a range of Local Authorities.

In addition to our wide range of both hands-on and strategic policy experience, our strength lies in our ability to adapt our approach to the environment, culture and our Client’s specific needs. This enables us to provide an informed, business-based approach where health and safety management becomes an enabler, and not an obstacle.

Our Directors have also used a wide range of Consultants themselves over the years, and understand fully the need for Consultants to be able to demonstrate added value.
